Seamless Gutter Installation and Replacement in Augusta and the CSRA

Seamless gutters are rolled on site from a coil, cut to the exact length of each run, so the only joints are at the corners. For a region that gets 44 inches of rain a year and a pine needle in every seam, that is the right gutter. Post your job free and local Pros bid.

Why seamless

Fewer seams, fewer leaks, and sized for CSRA storms.

Sectional gutters from a home center come in 10-foot lengths with a joint every 10 feet. Each joint is a place for sealant to fail and for pine straw to catch. A seamless run is one piece from corner to corner, formed by a machine on your driveway from a coil of aluminum.

  • Size matters more than style. Augusta averages about 44 inches of rain a year, and June through August brings afternoon thunderstorms that drop an inch or more in an hour. A 5-inch K-style gutter with 2 by 3 downspouts is the common choice; a steep roof, a large roof section or a long run usually calls for 6-inch gutters and 3 by 4 downspouts.
  • Aluminum, in a gauge that holds a ladder. Ask for .032-inch aluminum rather than the thinner .027 builders often use; it dents less under pine limbs and holds its pitch longer. Copper and galvanized steel are options on older Augusta homes where the look matters.
  • Hangers every 24 inches or closer. Hidden screw hangers, not spikes. Under pines, closer spacing keeps the run from bellying under wet straw.
  • Downspouts that go somewhere. On red clay that drains slowly, a downspout that dumps at the foundation undoes the whole job. Extensions, splash blocks or a buried drain to daylight should be part of the quote.

The job

What a seamless gutter installation includes.

  • Old gutters and hangers removed and hauled away, fascia inspected and any soft wood replaced first
  • Drip edge checked; new drip edge added where the old gutters were hung without it
  • Runs measured and formed on site to length, pitched toward the downspouts, corners mitered and sealed
  • Downspouts placed where the water really collects, not just where the old ones were, with extensions away from the house
  • Color matched to the trim from the coil stock; most Pros carry a couple of dozen colors
  • Optional: gutter guards fitted at the same time, which is the cheapest moment to add them

Pricing is by the linear foot, with the gutter size, the gauge, the number of stories, the number of corners and downspouts, and fascia repair all moving the number. Post a few photos of each side of the house and a rough footage and you will get quotes that mean something.

Timing and storms

When to replace gutters in the CSRA.

Any dry stretch works; the common time is with a new roof, when the drip edge is exposed and the roofer and gutter Pro can coordinate. Fall, after the oaks drop, means the new gutters start the winter clean.

Hurricane Helene on September 26 and 27, 2024 brought a measured 82 mph gust at Augusta Regional Airport, 12.37 inches of rain near Evans and widespread tree damage across the CSRA. A lot of homes had gutters crushed or torn off. If yours were patched back together after the storm and still overflow or sag, a full seamless replacement is usually the better spend than a third repair.

By area

Seamless gutters around Augusta, county by county.

Augusta and Richmond County. Older homes, more half-round and copper requests, and oaks that argue for 6-inch gutters on the big roof sections. Gutter Pros in Augusta, Hephzibah.

Columbia County: Evans, Martinez, Grovetown, Harlem. Builder-grade .027 aluminum from the 1990s and 2000s is reaching the end of its life across these subdivisions; the upgrade is thicker stock and more downspouts. Evans, Martinez, Grovetown, Harlem.

North Augusta and Aiken, SC. In South Carolina, residential work above the state's licensing threshold needs a licensed residential builder or specialty contractor; ask, and ask about insurance. North Augusta, Aiken.

FAQ

Seamless gutters: common questions.

How much do seamless gutters cost in Augusta?

It is priced by the foot and depends on the gutter size and gauge, how many stories and corners, how many downspouts, and whether fascia needs replacing. Post the job once on HammerDuck and compare several quotes.

5-inch or 6-inch gutters?

Five inch handles most one-story CSRA homes. Six inch is the safer choice for steep roofs, long runs, big roof sections that feed one corner, and anywhere water overshoots the old gutters in a thunderstorm.

Can seamless gutters be installed on a house with rotten fascia?

Not well. The gutter is screwed to the fascia, so soft wood has to be replaced first. A good quote lists fascia repair as a separate line so you can see it.

How long do seamless aluminum gutters last?

With cleaning and sound hangers, decades. What shortens their life here is pine-straw weight on spike hangers and a downspout that was never extended, so the gutter stays full.

Do I need a permit to replace gutters?

Gutter replacement is treated as maintenance, and we have not found a CSRA building office that requires a permit for it. A homeowners association may have a say on color. Underground drains that connect to a storm system can need approval; ask your Pro.
